About SEPA

The Southeastern Planetarium Association (SEPA) is the professional home for planetarium educators and dome theater specialists from diverse settings: from K–12 schools to science centers across one of the nation’s most active and fastest-growing regional networks. Our footprint now spans 15 states, from Virginia as far south as the Gulf Coast and as far west as Texas, reflecting deliberate and ongoing regional expansion.

Each year, the SEPA Annual Conference brings this community together for hands-on workshops, immersive dome demonstrations, peer-led sessions, and a shared commitment to advancing science literacy through the unique power of the full-dome experience. The 2026 conference will be hosted at the Bentley Planetarium within the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Georgia, an innovative facility that reflects exactly the kind of institution our members serve and inspire.
