SEPA Mini Grant Program

Inspired by the Mini Grant Programs previously offered by the International Planetarium Society (IPS) and the Pacific Planetarium Association (PPA) in response to the negative impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the planetarium community, the Southeastern Planetarium Association (SEPA) is pleased to announce the continuation of the Mini-Grant program started in 2022 to provide financial assistance to the planetarium community.

What is grant amount?

Up to three (3) grants in the amount of $1000 will be awarded for 2025.

What are the obligations of award recipients?

Grant recipients will be asked to provide a brief report about your planetarium and how the SEPA Mini Grant funds were used, which will be posted on the website and appear in the Southern Skies journal.

Selection Criteria

Awards will be determined by the SEPA Mini Grants Commitee, based on several factors and on a case by case basis. Above all, the planetarium must show a need for the grant and communicate a specific use for the funds. Preference will be given to submissions that are project based and that can possibly be shared with the larger planetarium community. Grant funds may not be used for overhead. Any planetarium may apply for a mini grant, but priority will be given to current SEPA members.

Application Deadline – October 20, 2025

Awardees will be notified by November 1, 2025 and posted on the SEPA website.
